Industrial Hygiene Coordinator (10/28/08)

Selected candidate will report to the Industrial Hygiene Manager and will develop, implement and manage various industrial hygiene programs with primary responsibility for the University’s Employee Exposure Monitoring, Respiratory Protection and Ergonomics programs. Other responsibilities include conducting industrial hygiene audits and grant reviews, advising biological and radiation safety committees, maintenance and calibration of industrial hygiene equipment. This position will also serve as a member of the university’s spill response team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with competence in computers are required. Experience with computer database/spreadsheet applications (M.S. Excel/Access) and Word is desired. Requires good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Requires a B.S./B.A. in an environmental, chemical, industrial hygiene, engineering or related science discipline and 2 years of progressive experience in industrial hygiene activities with sound knowledge of OSHA requirements and consensus standards. Master’s degree, applicable professional certification and experience in a university environment are desired.

Salary Range: $43,000-$58,000.

Engineering/Manufacturing Manager (9/10/08)

Directing the operations of our manufacturing engineering, production and maintenance areas, you will ensure the on-budget, on-time production of high-quality products. This will include delegating and coordinating assignments, developing production-related policies and improvements, maintaining production schedules and equipment, promoting high workmanship standards, monitoring workflow for efficiency, correcting and preventing bottlenecks/issues and coaching and developing new supervisors. In addition, you will ensure strict adherence to safety rules/practices, maintain all records and reports, participate in new product development and handle the planning and budgeting for the facilities, equipment and labor.

Qualifications: BSME or BSEE, 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, background or training in statistical-based problem-solving and demonstrated leadership, organizational and communication skills are required. Experience in electric motor production is preferred and Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a definite plus.
